The College of Staten Island coeducational Cheerleading program is getting ready to kick-off another dynamic season, and will be fielding an interest meeting for all would-be candidates on Thursday, September 30, between 7-9:30pm, at the CSI Athletics Student Lounge.  Tryouts and the start of the season begins in mid-October.
The Dolphins, who won a CUNYAC Cheerleading Championship in 2003, resurrected the squad in 2008 as a student-run, grass-roots initiative.  The program has blossomed, finishing in second place for two straight years at the championship exhibition.  This past week, CSI named Justin Green as its new head coach and the program is looking to go to new heights in 2010.  September 30th’s interest meeting will give all would-be candidates insight into the teams season, philosophy, and upcoming important dates.
Official tryouts for CSI Cheer will be held on Friday, October 22 (6-9pm) and extend to Saturday and Sunday, October 23-24 (12-4pm) in CSI’s Auxiliary Gymnasium.
Interested candidates should contact Coach Green at JustineG04@yahoo.com or by calling (757) 575-8185.
