The College of Staten Island women’s volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to the Medgar Evers Cougars Tuesday night in Brooklyn, NY. The Dolphins fall to a 0-5 record and a 0-3 CUNYAC record. The Cougars extended to a 3-3 overall record and a 2-1 CUNYAC record.
 
The Dolphins had a tough first set tallying just one kill on 13 attempts finishing with a score of 25-13. CSI gained some momentum in set two with four kills, two apiece from Vasiliki Stergioula and Joanna Tepedino; however, Medgar’s nine kills gave them the win, 25-20. CSI’s worst set game in the third where three kills were struck on 24 attempts. The Cougars also rendered a small number of kills (4) but came through with the 25-12 win.
 
Tepedino marked four kills and fives digs while Stergiuola and Kaitlyn Flynn combined for four kills.
 
The Cougars were led by Lennise Noralez and Charita Henry who had five kills apiece. Natina Smith had six assists and five service aces.
 
CSI suffered with 13 service errors as the Cougars tallied 16 service aces.
 
The Dolphins will face the Baruch College Bearcats in conference play on Tuesday, September 21 at 7:00 pm in the CSI Sports and Recreation Center.
