The Drama Program of the Department of Performing and Creative Arts presents Machinal by Sophie Treadwell, a senior project directed by Christine Zahra-DeVito, on Wednesday through Saturday, Oct. 20, 21, 22, 23 at 8:00pm and Sunday, Oct. 24 at 6:00pm in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) Lab Theatre.

Machinal, is a leading American Expressionist play, and the first written by a woman, Sophie Treadwell. It was written in 1928 and inspired by the famous 1928 murder trial and execution of a woman for killing her husband. Nine vivid, hard-hitting episodes visit the subjective horrors and secret joys in the life of the woman who will kill her husband, culminating in her trial and execution. The production, directed by senior Dramatic Arts major Christine Zahra-Devito, and scored to music, is created by a team of talented and inspired students, and brings this very important play and topic to life at our College.
