Rigoberto González is the author of So Often the Pitcher Goes to Water Until It Breaks, a National Poetry Series selection, Black Blossoms (2011), and two bilingual children’s books: Soledad Sigh Sighs (2003) and Antonio’s Card (2005). 

Matthea Harvey has authored the titles Sad Little Breathing Machine (2004), Pity the Bathtub Its Forced Embrace of the Human Form  (2000), and Modern Life (2007), which was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award and a New York Times Notable Book.

Power Writers: “Speaking Words, Speaking the World: A Spoken-Word Poetry Workshop”

This program introduces youth to the power of creative writing. The Power Writers will work with CSI professors Patricia Smith and Tyehimba Jess in an open forum to “teach effective and practical mastery of the four language literacies: reading, writing, public speaking, and active listening.”

Latasha Diggs is author of the forthcoming Twerk from Belladonna Press (2013). Her three chapbooks include Ichi-Ban and Ni-Ban (MOH Press), and Manuel Is Destroying My Bathroom (Belladonna Press). She also produced the acclaimed album, Television.  

Dan Burt’s collections of poetry and prose include Searched for Text (2008), Certain Windows (2011), and We Look Like This (2012). Also, he has published Cold Eye (2010), a collaboration with the UK artist Paul Hodgson.
