Symposium on Human Trafficking

November 14, 2012 3:17 pm

The Multifaith Center, the Catholic Diocese, Christians Connect, Hillel, and the Bertha Harris Women’s Center present: “A Symposium on Human Trafficking” on Tuesday, Nov. 27 in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) Recital Hall from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

If you thought that slavery was a thing of the past, think again. Each day children and adolescents are kidnapped, lured away from their families, taken across borders, and sold as sex slaves.  Most will never return to see their families again.  Some children are even sold by their parents.

Join us for a discussion that will bring light to this underreported tragedy.  Topics include:

-Industries that foster these actions

-Measures for prevention

-What you can do to help

Panelists will include Rabbi Rachel Kahn-Troster, Mr. Andrew Lewis, and Elaine R. Schenk, MId.

- Division of Academic Affairs
