January 24, 2013 10:51 am

Effective immediately, I have asked Charles Gomes to assume the acting directorship of the Discovery Institute.

Charles is currently Director of our College Now program. He has been at CSI since 2009 and under his leadership, College Now has experienced a doubling in enrollment and a 94% success rate. Charles has a BA degree cum laude in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a MA in Education in Athletics Counseling and Administration from Springfield College. Prior to coming to CSI, he was the Regional Coordinator, National Director, CEO, and Executive Director of The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame from 2001 to 2009. During that time, he managed 150 high school programs involving more than 30,000 inner city participants and helped to secure $20 million dollars in funding.

Charles will continue to direct our College Now program while leading the Discovery Institute. Please welcome him as the Acting Director and assist him in building the programs of the Discovery Institute.
