Rev. Dr. Kathleen M. Cumiskey, Director of the Social Media Lab and Associate Professor, Psychology/Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and the MA in Mental Health Counseling Program, was honored as an LGBTQ Changemaker by New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer at Macy’s Herald Square June 26, 2014.

The Commendation reads:  “Commendation presented to Rev. Dr. Kathleen M. Cumiskey for her work to build a positive, empowered and supportive LGBTQ community in Staten Island; for her commitment to improving the quality of life of LGBTQ people throughout the city; for her continued advocacy on behalf of equal rights and same-sex marriage; and for her tremendous contributions to the City of New York”.

The other honorees were Sharon Stapel, the Executive Director of the Anti-Violence Project & Nathan M. Schaefer, Executive Director of the Empire State Pride Agenda.
