The College of Staten Island women’s tennis team is gearing up for the 2014 season as the defending CUNYAC Champions, and wants YOU to be a part of the mix.  The tennis program, led by newly-appointed Head Coach Arthur Velnick, will be opening up their practice season soon, and the team roster may have a spot with your name on it.

The tennis season officially gets underway on Thursday, September 11 against Brooklyn College, but practice swings into high gear soon.  All potential hopefuls are asked to reach out to Coach Velnick at (347) 755-8078 to set up an informational meeting.  If you wish to try out for the team, you will need a physical on file with the CSI training Room.  Medical forms can be obtained in the building 1R, Room 204 at the front desk or in the trainer’s room in 1R, Room 106.   Training forms can also be obtained via the CSI Athletics website here.

Last year the women’s tennis squad made history, recording their best season ever en route to a thrilling 5-4 win over Brooklyn in the CUNYAC Championship.  They broke Hunter College’s 13-year streak as champs, and made their first trip ever to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament this past spring.
