The Dolphins and Cougars met earlier this year on November 24, in Staten Island, NY where the Dolphins narrowly defeated the Cougars 1-0 in a tough CUNYAC match up.  Nicholas Bacarella, the Dolphins’ leading goal scorer, was the hero on this day when he received a through ball from Nobel Hadgu and buried the shot far post.  CSI leads the all-time series between these two teams 21-14-1 with CSI holding a 10-8-1 record at the CSI Soccer Complex.

The Cougars are currently on a six game losing streak with four of the losses coming in crucial CUNYAC matchups. In their last regular season game before the start of the CUNYAC Postseason Tournament the Cougars were defeated 6-1 by the No. 2 seeded Brooklyn Bulldogs.  Today’s game will be Medgar’s first time making the CUNYAC Postseason tournament since the 2011 season in which they were defeated by York College, 4-3, in an overtime thriller.

CSI has the No. 1 seed heading into the Postseason tournament after winning the regular season title for the first time since 2003.  This afternoon the Dolphins will start their journey towards winning the CUNYAC Postseason tournament for the first time since 1998 where they defeated Hunter College by a score of 1-0.  The Dolphins will be at full strength for this game and are coming off of a huge 1-0 CUNYAC win against CCNY.  The men have been decent at home this season, posting a 5-3-2 record at the CSI Soccer Complex as well as posting a +3 goal differential (16-13).
