On the heels of her CUNYAC Performer of the Week citation early this week, College of Staten Island women’s swimming standout Dakota Dawkins has been named the ECAC Division III Metro Co-Swimmer of the Week as well, her first distinction by the ECAC.  CSI participated in a lone meet a week ago, but it was a record-breaking one for the CSI junior.

Dawkins turned in three first-place finishes including a record-breaking performance in the 100-breaststroke. In the 200-medley relay, Dawkins was a part of a team that finished in 1:08.82 and followed up with a mark of 2:32.44 in the 200-individual medley relay. The junior’s best performance of the week came in the 100-meter breaststroke, the record-breaking swim, when she turned in a time of 1:10.77.  CSI won their meet against CUNYAC-rival Brooklyn College, by a count of 116-85.

For the season, the Dolphins are 3-4 overall, boasting a conference mark of 2-1.  They will face off against Hunter College this evening at the Sports & Recreation Center at 6pm.
