The College of Staten Island women’s basketball team will head to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, this afternoon to take on the 4-3 St. Joseph’s College Brooklyn Bears in a non-conference bout at 2:30 pm.  The Dolphins are 15-1 all-time against the Bears with the only loss coming on January 31, 2012 where St. Joseph’s College was able to defeat Staten Island 60-55.

The Bears bounced back from a two game losing streak Thursday as they were able to beat St. Joseph’s College Long Island in the Battle of the East vs. West 69-58 in Brooklyn, NY.  In that rival win, senior forward, Samantha Retas recorded a double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds.  St. Joseph’s College has never beaten Staten Island at a neutral court however the Bears have the edge over the Dolphins this afternoon as they have experience playing at the Barclays Center while the Dolphins have never played there before.

The Dolphins recently took down CUNYAC opponents John Jay College by a score of 69-59 which gave them their second conference win of the season.  Freshman forward, Christina Pasaturo, poured in 17 points in that game while senior guard, Megan Myhre, was able to cash in from three-point range and score 15 points of her own.  Staten Island has won two straight against the Bears and will look to make it three this afternoon.
