College of Staten Island men’s basketball star Will Fonseca enjoyed another healthy week, and on the heels of his CUNYAC Player of the Week honor, he doubled as ECAC Metro Division III Player of the Week as well.  The Dolphins went 3-0 last week and Fonseca was at the center of it all.

In three games last week Fonseca averaged 28 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.  He shot a blistering 64.9% from the floor, adding four total assists, three blocks and seven steals.  He saved his best performance for last, notching 32 points on 16-25 shooting with 10 rebounds in CSI’s dramatic come-from-behind win over St. Joseph’s College (BK), 92-87, a game that saw CSI down by as many as 17 points in the second half.  CSI added wins last week against Kean University and Hunter College.

For the season, Fonseca leads all CSI scorers with 25.3 points per game and 12.4 rebounds per game.  He also leads the team with 29 blocked shots and is second on the squad in assists (39), and steals (34).

CSi is back in action tonight, hosting John Jay College at 7:30pm at the Sports & Recreation Center.
