With championship aspirations, the College of Staten Island women’s soccer team will come into the 2015 season under new head coach Giuseppe Pennetti, and will entertain a 17-game schedule filled with highlights throughout.  The schedule features some familiar out-of-conference faces along with a modest conference schedule with the CUNYAC Championship slated for early-November.

CSI’s first three games will be played on their home turf.  The team opens on Tuesday, September 1, against New Jersey City University at 4pm, and then CSI will host its annual Fall Classic on Labor Day weekend, hosting Sussex County and Old Westbury.  From there CSI goes on a five-game road swing spanning 10 days, finishing with CUNYAC contests at Medgar Evers College and Lehman College.

Three of CSI’s final four dates also occur at home.  The most notable date of the season will likely be CSI’s CUNYAC finale, when they host CUNYAC-champion Brooklyn College on October 17 at the CSI Soccer Complex.  Three days later, CSI will celebrate Senior Day against William Paterson University (10/20, 4pm).  CSI will then end the season on the road against Rutgers-Camden, followed by a non-conference home finale against CCNY for a Halloween matinee.

Four of the CUNYAC’s seven teams will make its postseason tournament, which will begin on November 4 with semifinal play at Brooklyn College.  The Final will also take place in Brooklyn, prior to the Men’s Final on November 7.

CSI is taking a pretty impressive pedigree into the 2015 season.  The Dolphins’ have not dropped a CUNYAC Regular Season game since October of 2010, a streak spanning 27 games (26-0-1).  Despite the regular season success, CSI is will be aiming for its first Tournament Championship since 2011, when they took a 4-2 win on penalty kicks after a scoreless draw against John Jay College.  Improved postseason success will be the goal in 2015, as CSI has posted a 4-8-1 record as part of CUNYAC and ECAC Tournament play since 2011.
