The College of Staten Island women’s soccer team will introduce the 2015 season today, hosting visiting New Jersey City University in non-conference play at the CSI Soccer Complex.  The game is the debut for head coach Giuseppe Pennetti as he hopes to lead the team to a CUNYAC Championship which carries with it an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.  The game will be carried via LIVE video stream via CSI SportsNet, beginning at 3:45pm.

Players To Watch (CSI):  Samantha Wysokowski, second all-time in goals at CSI, returns after missing the entire 2014 season due to injury.  CSI returns top-goal scorer Danielle Smith from a season ago (9 goals).
Players to Watch (NJCU): Sophomore Laura Bustamente led NJCU is scoring last year and returns in 2015.  Bustamente was the NJCU goal scorer in last year’s 1-1 tie vs. CSI.
News and Notes:  This is the fifth-consecutive season that CSI is hosting NJCU.  Despite owining a 7-3-2 all-time series lead, NJCU has not beaten CSI since an ECAC Tournament meeting in 2011.  CSI defeated NJCU in 2012 and 2013, and the two teams have played to 1-1 ties in each of the past two seasons.  The Dolphins are 3-2-2 all-time against NJCU at home.  CSI is 4-7 all-time in season-openers, and 4-6-1 in home openers all-time.
