The College of Staten Island women’s tennis squad will continue its first week of action today with their home opener at 4pm against visiting Sarah Lawrence College. The Dolphins are coming off of a big win against Yeshiva in their season opener and are looking to stay in good form today against a Gryphons team that is making its 2015 debut.

Players To Watch (CSI): Two years ago when CSI played SLC, Nozima Toshpulatova was able to score a win in both singles and doubles. Look for her to try and continue that success today in their first meeting since 2013. Freshman Samantha Mazier clinched CSI’s 5-4 win on Tuesday with a three-set win. Look for her to play a key role again today.
Players to Watch (SLC): Autumn Atkinson posted great records in 2014 and is 24-4 all-time in doubles play. Look for her to be a force on the courts today. She also won her singles and doubles matches the last time these two teams met.
News and Notes: CSI scored a 7-2 win over SLC when the two teams last met on 10/11/13. SLC was selected to finish sixth in the Skyline Conference this year. This is their season opener. CSI has won its last two home openers.
