The College of Staten Island women’s volleyball squad was able to put a halt on a season-long, seven-game, losing streak, salvaging a split of matches as part of CUNYAC multimatch play at Brooklyn College this afternoon.  First, CSI fell to Baruch College, 3-0, but the rebounded to out-do Medgar Evers by the same score.  The split saw the Dolphins move to 6-11 overall, and 2-4 in conference play.

In the opener, the Bearcats won by scores of 25-12, 25-14, and 25-13.  CSI would only scatter 12 kills in the game while Baruch tallied a healthy 38.  Selma Kolenovic led the Dolphins with 5 kills while Victoria Wong finished with 22 digs.

In the second game, CSI put the halt on their seven game skid with a convincing win against Medgar Evers College by scores of 25-19, 25-5, and 25-16.  CSI out-killed MEC, 18-12, led by Ashley Notaro’s five kills.  Brittany Minondo garnered 10 service aces, while Siobhan Granich and Rosamarie Gonzalez tallied two blocks each.
