The CSI baseball team is in action this afternoon when they travel to the Bronx, NY to take on Lehman College at 4:00 PM.  The Dolphins and Lightning split yesterday’s doubleheader to bump CSI up to 23-9-1 on the year.  The Lightning picked up their first win over the Dolphins since 2013 which put an end to the Dolphins’ 11-game win streak.

Players To Watch (CSI):  Josh Mercado finished game one yesterday going 2-for-2 with a run and has had an impact on offense in the second half of this season.  Nick Meola collected his third home run of the season against the Lightning yesterday which places him tied for first on the team.  Meola finished the split yesterday 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs. Jett Nouvertne leads the team with a .361 batting average and continues to produce for the Dolphins as he is third on the team with 20 RBIs and has struck out just four times all season.
Players To Watch (LC): Jeffrey Ledesma paces the Lightning with a .395 batting average and also has a team-high 9 home runs.  Ledesma does his best to not leave his teammates stranded on the bases as he has a team-high 37 RBIs.  Ledesma struggled yesterday against the Dolphins as he finished the split 1-for-7 with a pair of RBIs. Carlo Francisco is second on the team with a .371 batting average and is second on the team with 8 doubles.
News & Notes: The Dolphins had dominated the Lightning in recent games but the Lightning were able to break that with a 4-3 win in game two yesterday.  Over their 11-game win streak the Dolphins scored an average of 10 runs per game while holding the Lightning to an average of just four. Today’s game will be the final tune-up before the CUNYAC Playoffs which start on Thursday, May 4 at the CSI Baseball Complex.
