After a successful off-season start pitching for the Staten Island Tide of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League, College of Staten Island sophomore hurler Tom Musso was selected to participate in the league’s All-Star Game, and pitched a single inning in the Kaiser Division’s win over the Wolff Division.

Musso took the hill in the game’s eighth inning, with Kaiser holding a slim, 5-4, advantage.  Musso induced a ground ball out off of the bat of John Paul Bell to start the inning, and then after surrendering a double, retired the next two batters via a pop out and fly out.  Jason Silva relieved Musso in the eighth and recorded the save.

Musso, a CUNYAC All-Star who wrapped up a great second-year with the Dolphins this past season had an eventful summer, going 4-2, with a 4.21 in the ACBL.  He fanned 25 batters in 32 innings of work.  Midway through the season, Staten Island is 10-16 overall, seven games back of first place Allentown.
