By virtue of their CUNYAC Championship on Saturday, the College of Staten Island women’s softball squad will be heading to Rowan University on Friday, taking part in the NCAA Division III Championship Softball Tournament. One of 62 teams to advance to the national tourney, CSI will play Randolph-Macon in the opening game within the Rowan pod.  The host Profs will be facing PSU-Berks in opening round play as well that day The Regional is double-elimination, with the winner moving into the round of 16 the following weekend in Super-Regional play.

All games of the tournament regional will take place on the campus of Rowan University.  Information such as matchup times and ticket prices will be made available as more info is gained.  Be sure to consult this website for the latest information.

CSI’s first-round opponent, Randolph-Macon enjoyed a tremendous season, going 38-5 overall, including a 16-2 regular season mark within the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.  They fell to eventual-Champion Virginia-Wesleyan in the ODAC Tournament at season’s end, getting to the tournament in at-large fashion.  Host Rowan finished 33-10-1 overall, winning the NJAC Tournament by taking a sweep over top-seeded TCNJ, 3-2, and 4-0.  Finally, PSU-Berks enters the competition with a 24-8-1 mark, defeating Keuka College twice, 12-3 and 5-0 to stake claim to the NEAC Tournament Championship.
