Staten Island, NY | The College of Staten Island softball program had one member selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association East Region for her efforts during the 2018 season. Patricia Riches, for the second straight season, was recognized by the NFCA by earning third-team honors.

Riches picked up where she left off last season in which she earned a slew of awards, one of which included CUNYAC & ECAC Metro NY/NJ Rookie of the Year, by once again leading the team in several offensive categories. Riches led the team with a .473 average, and 18 doubles while striking out just three times on the year. Her on-base percentage was 53%, and she also paced the team with 53 hits.

Riches capped off her season with CUNYAC 1st-team all-star honors and the CUNYAC Tournament MVP after leading the Dolphins to their sixth-straight CUNYAC title.
