The College of Staten Island men’s and women’s cross-country teams will be making their season debut later this afternoon and into the early evening, as they will travel to Deer Path Park in Flemington, NJ, to kick off the race season.  The course will be a 5k for both sexes.

CSI @ RAMAPO INVITATIONAL AT-A-GLANCE
Race: Women’s 5K at 5:00 pm; Men’s 5k at 5:30 pm
Where: Deer Path Park, 120 W Woodschurch Road, Flemington, NJ
Last Year’s Result:  Did Not Attend
Runners to Watch (CSI): There will be plenty of new firepower on the course for both CSI teams this season, but look for returners like Tristiana Adragna and Liam McMunn to figure into the scoring column and a high placing at the run.  Adragna had CSI’s top 5k time a year ago at 22:48.5 at the St. Joseph’s College Invitational at Sunken Meadow Park.  Fellow returner Veronica Lorenzo was just as strong at the Bard Invitational’s 5k last season, topping out at 23:47.  Look for newcomers like N’Zinga Duverney-Beavers, Deavion Brown and Brittani Broderick to also have a fine debut and look to break into the low scoring column.  On the men’s side, McMunn did not run a 5k a season ago, but posted a 17:08 5k run in 2016 at the St. John’s Invitational, to date CSI’s third-fastest 5k run in history.  look for newcomer Spencer Milito to make a strong push at the top as well.
News & Notes: Today will mark CSI’s first-ever participation in the Ramapo Invitational and their first-ever run at Deer Path Park.  A total of 13 teams are preliminarily scheduled to race
