Players to Watch (CSI): Megan McEwan will take over at point guard this season and lead the Dolphins on the court. Last season, McEwan averaged three points per game in 11 minutes of action. McEwan will be joined by Jacquelyn Cali from behind the arc as they are both three-point specialists.  Cali is just one of two seniors on this young Dolphins squad and will look to improve upon her six points per game average this season. Diana Todaro and Rosa Perone will look to dominate inside for the Dolphins this season.  Todaro sat third on the team last season, averaging 6.1 rebounds per game while Perone added four rebounds a game.
Players to Watch (SJC-BK):  Kelly O’Donnell returns for the Bears in her sophomore campaign and will want to pick up where she left off last season. O’Donnell led her team last season with 464 points on 41% shooting. O’Donnell has quick hands on defense as she paced her team to the tune of 65 steals. Victoria Porcasi returns for her senior season after averaging a stout 17.6 points per game just a season ago. Porcasi found success behind the arc last season as she converted 33% of her attempts. Sitting behind only O’Donnell, Caitlyn Staab averaged 5.9 rebounds per game.
News & Notes: The Dolphins have dominated the Bears throughout history, posting a healthy 19-1 record with the only loss coming in 2012. Since that loss, the Dolphins have won six straight by an average of 18 points. At the Tank, the Dolphins are a perfect 10-0 against the Bears.  In their last five home openers, Staten Island is 5-0 while averaging 78 points per contest. The Bears have not fared well on their first away game of the season, going 0-5 over the last five years.
