New York, NY | The College of Staten Island women’s swimming team ushered in the conference portion of their 2018-19 season and unfortunately it resulted in a loss for the Dolphins as they fell to Hunter College, 60-28, at Hunter’s North Pool in Manhattan.  CSI fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 within the CUNYAC to start the season, while Hunter advanced to 2-0, 1-0, respectively.

Hunter won every event on Friday evening, finally conceding points towards the end of the meet.  They got started in the 200-yard Medley Relay, winning there by a time of 2:06.21.

CSI registered their first points when Gabriella Bartley swam a 2:43.38 time in the 200-yard Freestyle in event no. 3.  One event later, Kimberly Hernandez placed third with a time of 33.15.  Hernandez would later add a silver medal finish in the 100-yard Freestyle with a time of 1:16.14.

Lisnette Solano also captured a second-place finish with a time of 1:25.74 in the 100-yard Breaststroke.

CSI will turn around on short rest to face the College of New Rochelle on Saturday for a non-conference matinee that will also feature the men’s team.
