Flushing, NY | The City University of New York Athletic Conference have unveiled their Women’s Swimming & Diving All-Star team, and three Dolphins have made the cut.  Senior diver Alyssa Dunn took high honors, winning CUNYAC Diver of the Year honors.  Fellow diver, freshman Jen Basini was also recognized to the All-Star team, while sophomore Cecelia Mauro was cited as a member of the CUNYAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Dunn, a two-time CUNYAC Diver of the Week, took the silver medal at this year’s CUNYAC Swimming & Diving Championship this past weekend.  CSI had limited opportunities to dive this season, but when they did, Dunn was a force, collecting two gold and two silver finishes in dual meets, all on the one-meter boards.  Dunn;s 40 points in total tied her for ninth on the team.

Basini had a sensational rookie campaign for CSI, collecting four gold medals and one silver medal in meets this season on the one-meter board.  The highlight of her campaign came at the 2019 CUNYAC Championships, where she took home CSI’s only gold medal of the meet with a win on the one-meter board.  Like Dunn, Basini finished with a total of 40 points this season, her first as a Dolphin.

Rounding out the accolades was Mauro, who was instrumental to the development of the squad and as a leader all season.  Mauro was also excellent in the pool, where she finished with 223 total points, good for second on the team.  Her 22 Top Three finishes led the team, as did her seven first-place finishes.

Baruch College’s Yee Chung Phang was named the CUNYAC’s Performer of the Year, while Ariel Tsai from Hunter College was named the conference’s top rookie.  Hunter College Head Coach Michael Kokoszka was named Coach of the Year.  For a complete list of All-Stars click here.
