The College of Staten Island women’s basketball returns to The Tank for their final regular season game at home this season. The Dolphins will face off against the Lightning of Lehman College after dropping two-straight for just the second time this season.

Players to Watch (CSI): Kayla Schmitter tallied 16 points in the loss to Hunter College which broke a three-game streak of single-digit outings. In her last meeting with the Lightning, Schmitter scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in the win. Schmitter’s mid-range game has improved all season and she will look to keep that going as she is currently hitting 49% of her shots from the floor. Devin Mooney had her second highest outing of the season against the Lightning with 9 points and five rebounds. Cristina Camerlengo will look to get back on track after going just 1-for-7 from the field in her last game. Nicole Imbesi will step on her home court for the last time during the regular season today as she wraps up her collegiate career. Imbesi comes in averaging 2.9 points per game while dishing out 2.4 assists per game. Imbesi is known for her defense as she often defends the other teams best player. Jacquelyn Cali will join Imbesi as it will also be her final regular season home game. Cali is averaging eight points per game this season on 33% shooting. Rosa Perone is the third and final senior on the squad this season and she is averaging 7.7 points per game while grabbing 5.3 rebounds per game. 
Players to Watch (LC): Eriadna Vasquez paced the way for the Lightning in the last meeting with the Dolphins with a 17 point, 14 rebound double-double. Khadijah Sangare pulled down 11 rebounds and scored four points in that game. On the season for Vasquez, she is averaging 9 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. of Vasquez’s 176 total rebounds, 82 of them have been on the offensive side, giving her team second-chance opportunities. Adeeba Cheema averages 4.8 points per game while shooting 16% from three-point range, a team-high.
News & Notes:  The Dolphins are on a five-game win streak against the Lightning, dating back to the 2017 CUNYAC Semifinals. During that stretch, the Dolphins have averaged 77 points per game while holding the Lightning to 55. In the last three meetings at The Tank against Lehman, the Dolphins are just 1-2 despite posting a 15-7 record against them all-time. The Lightning are averaging 35 points per game this season while allowing their opponents to score 70 points. The fourth quarter has been Lehman’s best quarter of the season as they have scored 205 of their 744 points from that quarter.
