The College of Staten Island and President Dr. William J. Fritz received a high accolade, scoring a place on the Staten Island Power 100, recognizing the 100 most powerful people on Staten Island, as issued by City and State New York, it was announced on Tuesday.

Ranked at No. 26, athletics was one of many reasons for Dr. Fritz’s selection to the list, as the publication cited the potential move to NCAA Division II as a driving force for the College’s future.

The College of Staten Island announced their intended move to Division II officially in March. The campus will await word from the NCAA in mid-July on their decision.
