Players to Watch (CSI): The Dolphins put together a strong showing on the attack during Sunday’s game against Penn College scoring three goals in the victory.  Picking up where she left off last season, Samantha LaValle struck for two early first-half goals, both coming in the first 7 minutes of play.    In the second half, it was Jordan Yagos scoring her first goal as a Dolphin, one that would ultimately go down as the game-winner.  Also involved in the playmaking that helped the Dolphins to victory on Sunday were Mirsade Pelinkovic and Angye Galan.  The second-year Dolphin Pelinkovic registered an assist on the first goal by LaValle while the latter picked up the assist on the game-winning goal scored by Yagos.  Defensively, the Dolphins will have seniors Lizbeth Aparicio and Rebecca D’Aloia anchoring the back line while fellow seniors Nicole Mignone and Natalia Sandor along with juniors Nermina Bracic and Paulina Ambrus round out the Dolphins veteran core.  This group has combined with a large class of freshman talent to get the Dolphins season off to a strong start that they will look to build on today.
Players to Watch (RC):  The Roadrunners have already had six different players contribute a goal in the young season and it is senior Kaelyn Agelucci leading the way with a pair to go along with two assists, a total which also leads the team.  They’ve also gotten stellar goalkeeping from fellow senior Elizabeth Harvell who has allowed only three goals across her three games started so far this season.  In addition to the contributions from their seniors, the Roadrunners have also had three other players register a goal and an assist through their first three contests, Carla Goodwin, Lauren Vladyka, and Kaitlyn Kelly.
News & Notes: Today will go down as the ninth meeting between these two teams with Ramapo taking seven of the eight pevious matchups.  However, the Dolphins won their match against the Roadrunners last year by a score of 2-0 in a game which saw LaValle score a pair of goals just as she did this past Sunday.
What’s Next?: After today’s game the Dolphins will be back in action on Saturday at home when they will take on William Paterson at 11:00 AM.  Following today’s game against CSI, Ramapo will continue their five-game season-opening homestand with a matchup against Cedar Crest College
