Student-Stars Shine at “CSI’s Got Talent”

The top-three winners of this year's CSI's Got Talent competition pose with their prizes.

The finalists in the seventh annual “CSI’s Got Talent” had their chance to wow the near-capacity audience in the Center for the Arts on April 17, and win some impressive prizes. The event included a wide range of performers, from singers to spoken-word artists, and even a magician and a dancer.

This year’s winners were:

 

1st place ($2,250): Reginald Bray – spoken-word artist;

2nd place ($750.): Dominique Mendez – singer; and

3rd place ($250.): Jacqueline Paige – singer


As in past years, Sal Vulcano from TruTV’s Impractical Jokers and Jay Miller from Mid Evenings with Jay Miller served as the emcees.

The judges for the event were:

 

Alan Hoffner, Director of Testing;

Fran Melendez, Director of the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling;

Richard Krystoforski, Assistant Director, Center for Career and Professional Development;

Xavier Santiago, student and winner of last year’s “CSI’s Got Talent”;

Justin Balatucan, student/Campus Activities Board; and

Elizabeth Nieto, student/Student Government

 

Commenting on the importance of the event, Carol Brower, Director of Student Life, stated, “It was another wonderful night of seeing our amazing students shine. ‘CSI’s Got Talent’ has been embraced by the whole CSI community and I look forward to the tradition continuing for many years to come.”
