Join us for a panel discussion on the development of state media
and popular culture in China.
Guests will be Ying Zhu, Professor, Department of Media Culture,
and Jonathan Campbell, Toronto-based music critic and author.
This symposium recognizes Professor Ying Zhu’s new
book,”Two Billion Eyes,” a critical analysis of state-run television
in China and Jonathan Campbell’s “Red Rock: The Long, Strange
March of Chinese Rock & Roll.” Also, the development of a new
major at CSI in East Asian Studies will be highlighted.
