Dr. Claudia Mitzeliotis earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Rutgers University in January 2015, with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing. She is an Advanced Practice Psychiatric Mental Health nurse with extensive experience both as a clinical nurse specialist and as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Her research interest is directed toward families coping with autism.
Dr. Mitzeliotis has taught at Hunter College and New York University. She has many years of experience employed at the Brooklyn Veterans administration hospital where she started the first women’s support group for women veterans; this evolved into a National Organization of which she is a co-founder.
