Wei Zhang (Assistant Professor) received her Ph.D. in Kinesiology from The Pennsylvania State University, specializing in the field of Motor Control and Biomechanics. Before joining CSI, she spent four years as a post doctoral researcher in the lab of Neural Control of Movement Laboratory in Arizona State University, where she was under the dual mentorship of Dr. Marco Santello and Dr. Andrew Gordon (Columbia University). Her research interests have been focused on a variety of human behavior phenomena and principles. Her current research interest has an emphasis on the neural and biomechanical bases of human hand control by investigating healthy young adults, normal elderly individuals, as well as patients with neuromuscular disorders through various dexterous manual tasks and skilled object manipulations.
