The Pluralism and Diversity Program at the College of Staten Island has created a special learning experience, entitled The Tunnel of Oppression, for CSI students, faculty and staff.

The Tunnel of Oppression is an opportunity for the CSI community to get a glimpse of what life is like for people who are experiencing some form of oppression in their lives. Oppression that often comes when someone is a victim of racism, sexism, homophobia or some of the other “ism’s”.

During the 90-minute event, participants will experience the power of oppression through displays, interactive skits and a flash film. The program will end with personal discussions with professional staff members.

Tunnel of Oppression will be held in the Campus Center of CSI on Thursday, November 16, at 1:30 p.m. CSI students will receive 1 PG and 1 CC CLUE credit for participating in the event.
