Are you ready to get STEAMed up about studying biology, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, engineering science, mathematics, or physics in summer or fall 2009?  Then you should apply for a STEAM scholarship.  STEAM is a program at the College of Staten Island, funded by the National Science Foundation, to support you as you pursue one of these majors.

Applications are now being accepted for continuing students in any one of these majors.  For summer 2009 research, you must submit a STEAM application (Click Here for the application) and indicate “research stipend” as the type of scholarship for which you are applying. You must have a faculty mentor who will supervise your work, and you must give the title of your project.

For a new STEAM scholarship (for students who have not previously been funded by STEAM) you should indicate “one semester scholarship” and complete the entire application including the essay.  You must have declared a major in one of the disciplines listed above, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be a U. S. citizen or permanent resident to receive funding.

Are you already a STEAM Scholar and want to continue?  Drop us an email and indicate that you want to continue in the program, and make sure that you complete a STEAM-sponsored activity this semester.  Our email address is steam@mail.csi.cuny.edu.
