During the evening of Tuesday Sept. 8, a female CSI student reported that she was approached by a male as she entered the side entrance of an academic building. The male, who was alone in the stairwell, asked the female student if “she had the time?” When the female student went into her handbag to look for her phone, the male grabbed her arm. The female student yelled several times “get off me.” When another student entered the stairwell the suspect released the female and fled out the exit door. There was no injury and there was no property taken. The incident was reported to the CSI Public Safety office. The New York City Police Department was notified and is also investigating this incident.
Description of Suspect:
- Male – White – 19 to 22 years old
- 5 feet, 10 inches tall – Medium Build – Wearing a Black T-Shirt – Blue jeans – Baseball Cap
Public Safety would like to remind members of the College community to be cognizant of their surroundings when walking to class and not to display money or valuables to strangers.
If you encounter any act of theft or harassment do not expose yourself to harm. Commit the identity/description to memory, allow them to leave, and report the incident immediately to the Public Safety office.
