Fall 2010 CAB Community Proposals

The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is the programming board that allocates an earmarked portion of the Student Activity Fee for social, cultural, educational, and community service programs. CAB is beginning the process of identifying programs for fall 2010. If your department is planning a program for students and believes that CAB may be interested in co-sponsoring the event, please Click Here to complete a Community Proposal form. http://www.csi.cuny.edu/currentstudents/studentlife/cabproposals.html. Please print the completed form (legal size paper), fill it out, and submit it to CAB in the Office of Student Life in the Campus Center (Building 1C), Room 201.

Community Proposal requests for fall 2010 are due by Monday, Apr. 26, 2010 at 4:45pm.

CAB has funded numerous campus programs including the academic programs “Sexual Violence and the Law” with the Political Science Department and Poet Samantha Thornhill with the African Heritage Studies Program, wellness programs such as the “Mind and Health Fair: Living Life in Balance” with the Counseling Center and “Take Action! Lessons in Personal Safety” with Health and Wellness, and campus-wide programs such as the Green Dolphin Café series, the CSI Leadership Conference, CSI Honors Convocation, CSI Community Fall Festival, and the annual Graduate Student Reception and Barbecue.

CAB sets aside $15,000 per semester for community proposal funding. Therefore, CAB will not approve funds in an amount more than $3,000 for any specific proposal. In addition, any individual department may submit as many events as they choose, but CAB will only fund one event per department. CAB will review the fall 2010 funding requests that are received by April 26 at their May/June meetings. Decisions regarding funding will be sent in late summer/early fall after Student Government and the CSI Association have had time to approve CAB recommendations.

Thank you in advance for helping CAB to “Enhance CSI Experiences” for our student body. We look forward to receiving your program ideas. If you have questions about the proposal process, or need assistance with your application, please contact Debi Kee at 718.982.3268 or email debi.kee@csi.cuny.edu.
