Join us at the Hillel at the College of Staten Island Gala on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at the Joan and Alan Bernikow Jewish Community Center, located at 1466 Manor Road, Staten Island at 5:00pm. Tickets to the Gala are $180 and include cocktails, dinner, and dessert reception, with dietary laws observed.
The Gala will honor Dr. William Fritz, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, College of Staten Island; David Sorkin, Executive Director, JCC of Staten Island; Loren Lemberg, Hillel at the College of Staten Island; and David Graf, Hillel at the College of Staten Island.
At the College of Staten Island, Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life is going strong. In just this year, membership has more than tripled. We are busy, and our calendar is jam-packed with opportunities for students. Hillel serves the entire campus community. Our programs and activities promote Jewish values that are universal– we are working to make the world a better place, and all students are welcomed. Hillel provides Staten Island young adults with a place to grow spiritually and learn Judaism, whether beginner or advanced. Hillel offers opportunities for personal advancement and leadership training–student board, workshops, trips, and internships are developing our leaders of tomorrow. Hillel at CSI is making a difference–in the lives of our students, on our campus, in the Staten Island community, in New York, Israel, and around the world.
