As you have heard, the University is anticipating record-high enrollment for this fall. Here at CSI, we are in the midst of an unusually active new student registration period, and various offices are fielding a high volume of inquiries from students and their family members regarding the timing of various steps in the enrollment process. Thus, we share with you the following so that there is a common understanding and so that student inquiries are responded to with consistent information.
Newly admitted students first receive correspondence acknowledging their acceptance to CSI. (With some exceptions, we have stopped admitting freshmen for fall). The next step for these students is either skills assessment testing or math placement testing. Students will receive letters from the University with the date of their appointment for testing 21 days before their testing date. As many students are scheduled for testing in June, these letters will be sent out over the next two weeks. Also, students scheduled for testing will receive letters from the Office of Academic Support offering opportunities to attend a pre-test preparatory workshop. Students with testing inquiries may call the Testing Office at 718.982.2380. New students will receive appointments for advisement and registration after being tested.
