I am pleased to share with the College community the appointment of Ms. Shawn Landry as Acting Director of the CSI New York State-supported Liberty Partnership Program (LPP), effective Aug. 1, 2010. The LLP falls under the auspices of the Division of Student Affairs. Ms. Landry served as Youth Organizer/Intern Coordinator for the LLP since January 2003 at the College. She replaces Deborah Rose, previous LPP Director and current Council Woman for District 49 in Staten Island.
Over the past several years, Ms. Landry developed and expanded relationships with at-risk students by working closely with Staten Island schools’ principals, teachers, and parents, and the provision of target program efforts such as the provision of crisis intervention for students and their families, educational workshops, field trips, and other special events designed to support students’ graduation from high school and entry into higher education.
In 2010, Ms. Landry received the National Council for Negro Women, Staten Island Chapter, Community Leaders Award. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the New York University Silver School of Social Work, and a MS degree in Public Administration and BS degree in Professional Services from the Metropolitan College of New York.
