The Dean’s Symposium series presents “Happy First Birthday, CLACLS!” on Tuesday, May 7 in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) Lecture Hall from 2:30pm to 4:20pm.
This year, CSI celebrates the first year of the Certificate in Latin America, Caribbean, Latina/o Studies. The panel discussion of faculty research will be moderated by Assistant Professor Sarah Pollack. Department of World Languages and Literatures. The symposium will increase our understanding of political, cultural, and social changes in the Caribbean and Latin American countries.
The panelists will include Jillian Baez, Assistant Professor, Department of Media Culture; Leigh Binford, Professor, Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work; Rafael de la Dehesa, Associate Professor, Department of World Languages and Literatures; and Oswaldo Zavala, Professor, Department of World Languages and Literatures.
The Dean’s Sympium series is presented by the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Department of the Library.
A reception will follow the symposium. This event is CLUE certified.
