The World on Wednesday Lecture Series will present “Cultural Immersion in Global Health: Winter Nursing Program in Costa Rica” with Regina Lama, Nursing Department, and Nursing majors who participated in January 2013 on Oct. 2 in the Campus Center (Building 1C), Room 211 from 12:20pm to 1:10pm.
Attend this session to learn about the this unique three-week winter program that allows CSI nursing students to observe clinics and hospitals within Costa Rica, primarily in the capital city of San Jose. In collaboration with the nursing and medical programs at the Universidad de Iberoamerica (UNIBE) students will have practical learning experiences as well as partake in Spanish language classes that apply to nursing and the health sciences. This program was offered for the first time in January 2013 for students who are currently in CSI’s BA program in Nursing, and it will be offered again this coming January 2014. It is led by Professor Regina Lama.
