Blackout at the CSI Sports & Recreation Center tonight for Student-Athlete Appreciation Night as well as senior night! Wear BLACK in support of your Dolphins and get loud as tonight is a big game that will determine what seed the Dolphins will get in the postseason.
The last time these two teams met was on January 9, 2015 in the Bronx, NY where the Dolphins defeated Lehman College 89-82. CSI holds a 31-15 lead over the Lightning and a 12-5 record at the CSI Sports & Recreation Center. The Dolphins have won the last six meetings and will look to keep Lehman at bay tonight and win their seventh.
The Lightning have won two in a row coming into tonight’s game. Karrin Walker leads Lehman College in several offensive categories and is second in the CUNYAC in scoring. Amely Del Rosario went toe-to-toe with Christina Pasaturo last game however it was not enough as Pasaturo scored a game high 29 points.
CSI will come into tonight’s game on a one game losing streak after dropping a game to undefeated Baruch College 63-78. The Dolphins will want to build their confidence by winning tonight’s game and head into the postseason with the winning mentality. Tonight is senior night for the Student-Athletes and we will be saying goodbye to four outstanding seniors. Megan Myhre was one of the most prolific downtown threats in the NCAA and that threat was able to spread defenses out for the Dolphins. Jennifer Coughlin was an outstanding leader in her four years and will be near-impossible to replace. Next up is Nikki Fabozzi who was the CUNY and ECAC Rookie of the Year back in 2011-12 and has been one of the most consistent players for the Dolphins in her four years. This season, she became only the 9th CSI women’s basketball player in history to amass over 600 career rebounds. Finally, is Lisa Galasso who had her career cut short due to injuries but will be sorely missed as she will be graduating early due to her unwavering focus and tenacity.
Fans, if you are unable to make tonight’s game you can head to www.csidolphins.com/watch for live coverage of the game!
