The Eastern College Athletic Conference released their softball All-Stars this morning and three Dolphins made the list. Junior third baseman on Christina Tufano, junior right fielder Chyanne Gilliam, and sophomore pitcher Jacqueline Cautela all were honored on the 2015 ECAC All-Star team.
Tufano, a hard hitting third baseman from St. Joseph by the Sea, led the Dolphins in several offensive categories this season. The junior batted .438 on the season in 43 games this season with 12 doubles, four triples and three homeruns. She also chipped in 59 RBIs which broke the CSI record and 43 runs.
Gilliam was the standout outfielder for the Dolphins this season as she led the Dolphins with six homeruns. The junior led the Dolphins with 13 doubles while slugging .707, also a team high. Gilliam led the outfield committee in put outs with 103 while committing just seven errors on the year.
Cautela was the CUNYAC’s Pitcher of the Year for the second year in a row after dominating the circuit once again. Cautela boasted a 2.63 ERA and a 16-8 record in 26 appearances with 143.2 innings pitched. Cautela was not only good from the circle but she stood out on the plate as well with a .306 batting average and four homeruns one of which came in the CUNYAC Championship game and closed the door on Hunter College.
