The CSI Eta Lambda Chapter of the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars will hold its Fifth Induction Ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 14 in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) Williamson Theatre at 5:00pm.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Seyed Masoud Noori, who will discuss “Global Human Rights Today Colloquium Series: Shared Responsibility to Protect Academic Freedom.”

Dr. Noori is a law professor, journalist, and human rights researcher from Iran. He is currently the Research Director of the Center for the Study of Islam and the Middle East, a Washington DC-based nonprofit organization committed to interfaith dialogue and objective research. He was previously a faculty member at Mofid University in Iran, where he also served as Deputy Director of the Center for Human Rights Studies. He received his PhD in Private Law from Mofid University, and his academic work focuses on the relationship between Islamic law/Sharia and the international human rights law system. He recently held visiting scholar positions at New York University School of Law, Emory University Law School, and the National University of Ireland, Galway.
