The College of Staten Island women’s tennis squad will be taking to the court for three matches this week, and to coincide with their intercollegiate schedule, the Dolphins will be serving up for another cause when it hosts an Autism Awareness match against John Jay College this Friday at the CSI Tennis Center at 4:00pm. All funds raised throughout the week and during the match will be donated to Autism Speaks.
To kick off the fundraising, the back-to-back CUNYAC champs will be organizing an all-day bake sale on Wednesday, October 13, at the CSI Campus Center (1C) from 9:00am to 6:00pm, and will be accepting donations on behalf of Autism Speaks throughout the day. On Thursday, CSI takes to the court against Berkeley College (NJ) and then on Friday the bake sale will continue during the CSI match against John Jay. Raffle baskets will also be raffled off, and will consist of CSI gear, private and group lesson vouchers, and gift cards.
The week’s revenue generating towards a good cause will be just the beginning for the CSI squad. On October 25, the College is hosting the Autism Speaks Walk on its campus, and the CSI team will be looking to score at the event by sponsoring a team that will participate in the annual event.
