Members of the newly formed group “Sustainable Staten Island” are making a plea to local elected officials. Ruth Silverberg, Associate Professor of Educational Studies at the College of Staten Island (CSI), and Steve Lawton, President of the Communications Workers of America Local 1102, are among those asking politicians to focus on human rights issues facing Staten Island.
