Players To Watch (CSI):  CUNYAC Player of the Year, Christina Pasaturo, will put her talents on display tonight against a Lightning team in which she averaged 22 points a game against this season.  Pasaturo is coming off of a 21-point outing against John Jay, a game where she did not play in the fourth quarter.  CUNYAC All-Star, Samantha Flecker will also be a crucial part of the offense tonight against the Lightning.  Flecker, like her teammate, is also averaging 22 points per game against the Lightning this season and will need every bit of those points to help lift them to the CUNYAC Finals. Flecker has also been effective on the boards, grabbing eight rebounds per game against Lehman which is on par with her season average. Angelique Price has looked like she has returned to her early season form, where she was averaging 16 points per game as she has now scored 17 and 16 points over her last two contests.
Players To Watch (LC): For the Lightning it will be CUNYAC All-Star, Amely Del Rosario leading the charge as she paces her team with 23 points per game.  The Dolphins will need to keep her in check as Del Rosario has carved the Dolphins up for 27 and 19 points this season.  Marika Gordon and Krystal Pearson will be the x-factor in the game tonight, as the duo found success down low against the Dolphins in their last regular season meeting. Both collected a double-double as they squashed any second chance opportunities the Dolphins may have found.
News & Notes: When playing Lehman College in the CUNYAC Postseason Tournament, the Dolphins have a slight 8-6 edge over the Lightning.  However, when these two teams meet in the semifinals, like they have 11 times before, the record is even closer with the Dolphins holding just a 6-5 margin.  The last time these two teams saw each other in the semifinal round was in the 2008-09 season in which the Lightning would knock off the Dolphins by a score of 58-51.  The Dolphins hold a 14-11 overall record in the CUNYAC Semifinals with their last semifinal win coming in the 2005-06 season where they defeated John Jay 77-69 before falling the finals.  Since that season the Dolphins have lost eight straight semifinal games and will look to change that tonight. The Dolphins poured in 83 points last time they played at the Nat Holman Gymnasium this season and shot 52% from the floor and 38% from downtown. The Lightning also found success at Nat Holman Gymnasium as they poured in 88 points and shot 45% from the floor but just 19% from behind the arc. The winner of tonight’s game will take on the winner of the Brooklyn vs CCNY game happening at 6:00 pm.
