CSI’s baseball team attempts to beat the weather to play against non-conference opponents Kean University in Union, NJ starting at 3:00pm. Postponing most of their games since coming back from Myrtle Beach, the Dolphins will look to clinch a win despite the cold.

Players To Watch (CSI): The Dolphins are led by sophomore Jordan Wilson with a .556 batting average, three runs, five hits and one triple. Junior Frank Muzzio is second with a .444 batting average and seven runs. Muzzio is ranked 46th in the nation with a .583 on base percentage. Anthony DiMarco is third on the team with a solid .400 average and leads the team with eight RBIs and four doubles. Muzzio and DiMarco are tied for first with eight hits. Bobby Drake had a stellar performance against Maritime College going 1-3 with a triple and three RBIs. Pitchers Christian Capellan and Ryan Kennedy both are 1-0 to start the season with 0.00 ERA.
Players To Watch (KU): Brock Podgurski paces the way with .370 batting average going 10-27 with 10 runs, two doubles and six RBIs. Brian Cole pushed the Cougars past Stevens Tech going 2-4 with two RBIs and one walk. Cole is second on the team with a .360 batting average (18-50). Ivan Rivera has 13 RBI total, good for first on the team. Pitchers Justin Hernandez (3-0) has a 0.98 ERA and Mike Occhi (2-0) has a 1.74 ERA.
News & Notes: The Dolphins are on a nine-game losing streak against the Cougars, since their last win in 2007 winning 6-5. In last year’s meeting between the two teams, Kean had a lopsided win against Staten Island, 10-1, which the Dolphins graduate Joe Palmeri went 2-4 with their lone run. With the Dolphins playing only eight games so far, they still sit 22nd in the nation with a .434 on base percentage under Head Coach Mike Mauro. The Dolphins are off to a good start this season, starting 6-2, with five of the wins coming on their trip to South Carolina. Staten Island most recently split with Maritime College and will look to start another win streak this afternoon against the Cougars.
