The College of Staten Island softball team will return to the diamond this afternoon in another doubleheader at the ESPN Sports Complex in Orlando, FL. The Dolphins split yesterday’s games and will look to sweep the day to improve to 3-1. The Dolphins will take on Emerson College to kick the day off, followed by Thiel College later in the day.

Players To Watch (CSI): The Dolphins are led by Jacquelyn Cautela in the circle as she boasts a 1-0 record while holding a 1.00 ERA. Newcomer Patricia Riches had an outstanding start to her Staten Island career. Riches went 7-for-8 with a walk while also making incredible plays from the shortstop position. Ashley Notaro will look to continue her success from yesterday. Notaro was a crucial part in the batting line-up and nearly gave the Dolphins the the run they needed to tie the game up in the second game against Simmons yesterday afternoon.
Players To Watch (EC): The Lions are led by Jacquline DeFusco with 12 hits and a pair of RBIs, both of which lead her squad. In the circle, Kodie Cash is 1-1 on the year with a 1.68 ERA, the best on her team. Cash has tallied five strikeouts this through six games and will hope to improve upon that mark here this afternoon.
Players to watch (TC): Jessica Kelly paces the Tomcats with a .400 batting average and leads the squad with two RBIs. The power-hitter for the Tomcats is Vanessa Falce who has managed to hit four doubles this season. Mackenzie Gullette has a 6.30 ERA so far this and boasts a 1-2 record for the Tomcats.
News & Notes: The Dolphins have opened their season in sunny Florida with a split but will hope to bring out the brooms this afternoon and bounce back to their winning form. Both the Lions and the Tomcats have struggled this season and the Dolphins will look to take advantage of their miscues to bring home runs.
