We are pleased to announce the new College of Staten Island Website, which made its debut on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. As we all know, this significant event has been a long time coming. The new design brings many attributes that were not available on our old Website, some of which include:

  • Ease of navigation
  • Intuitive design to access content
  • Responsive design for mobile technology
  • Built on a Content Management System (CMS) to allow for a distributive model of managing pages
  • Templates to allow for standardization
  • 24/7 monitoring in a hosted environment

The Website design was implemented with the guidance of our Website steering committee and our vendor partner, as well as constituent feedback throughout the entire process. The new design also provides the ability for individuals with the appropriate permissions to maintain their own pages. This will prove to be very beneficial in maintaining up-to-date content. As next steps, we will be contacting departments to begin training assigned individuals on how to maintain their sites.

The Information Technology Services team did the best they could to migrate and update content. However, there may be cases where items were missed. In this regard, we apologize, and will do the best we can to accommodate requests in the future.

Also, please note, the new Website uses Google Search, which is in the process of being re-indexed by Google. Until this happens,  you may encounter “page not found” when using the search feature.  This is not an error and will automatically be corrected when Google completes their re-indexing. Finally, if you encounter any issues with the Website appearing correctly on your computer, it is most likely attributed to a setting on your browser. Please contact the HelpDesk (718.982.HELP) for assistance.

A special thanks goes out to Joyce Taylor and Victor Magnani who led the IT team through this arduous and painstaking process. In addition, we would like to acknowledge the Web Steering Committee, which provided feedback throughout the entire project.
