The College of Staten Island men’s volleyball team will be under new leadership in 2018, and their full slate of games has been finalized as they will get set to roll out the season in February in time for an April run at a CUNYAC Championship.  This is the Dolphins’ fourth-year as a competitive program and optimism is on high as the group is being led by current women’s coach Lak Wai (Larry) Ng.

The Dolphins will be road warriors to open their season, as they will be on opponent turf for their first seven matches of the season.  It will start with a non-conference test at John Jay College on Thursday, February 8 at 7pm.  That will be followed by three more non-conference tests, including a tri-match at Rutgers – Newark on February 10.  The Dolphins will then open up the CUNYAC portion of their season on February 19, travelling to Lehman College to take on the hosts and CCNY.

After another road test against Hunter College, CSI will finally open up at home on Saturday, March 3, with a non-conference tri-match against Penn State University (Behrend) and St. Joseph’s College (Brooklyn).  That becomes part of a six-game home stand that ends with a conference tri-match against both Medgar Evers College and Brooklyn College on March 10.

The Dolphins will finalize with three of their last four matches away from home to open up April, including a season finale tri-match against perennial regional spowers Stevens Institute of Technology and a non-conference showdown against Hunter in Hoboken.

The 2018 CUNYAC season will finalize with the CUNYAC Postseason Championship, with six teams making the foray.  The tournament starts with quarterfinal play on April 10 with the semifinals and final following on April 12 at hosts Baruch College.
